Amber is a sign of a late harvest, and can lead to an extra sleepy couch lock type high. As this is an indica strain already (blue zombie) I'm hoping to avoid too much of the sedating effect.
It is a bit early, especially for the buds on the lower branches. But white trichomes are signs of peak THC.
You can also tell by the pistils, at the top of the plant they're all red but the lower branches still have some white. So yes, early but I don't think too early. And I'd rather early than late with this strain.
