You cannot go faster than the cars in front of you. Usually when I drive in Germany I have only small section without limits and there are too many cars to go more than 130-150km/h top. But it's for sure still better than 120.
The funny think is that outside highway, on countryside roads the default limit is 100 km/h which is often more than what we can drive on highways in my country.
