i can knit. crochet is probably more adaptable to super low tech inputs tho. just need shears for sheep and the hooks can be carved out of wood or bamboo. if shtf such skills would be extremely valuable. as would the tools to shear the sheep. would also be good to learn about natural dying techniques and stuff like how to rett various fibre plants like hemp and kenaf, even stringy barks of some trees, to make cordage and rope. rope making would be a neat complement to go with the knitting, but more suited to men, and useful for stuff like sailing and animal husbandry.

I also know how to knit, but I'd like to get American sourced material. Your idea of getting sheep and learning to sheer them and then to use that sounds like a great idea, but I'm not sure I want to spend my time on that... 🤔😅
