A Raspberry Pi or ESP32 can be useful, but they are still general-purpose computers, not key vaults.
Offline is a condition, not a security architecture.

Offline is a posture, not a property. A general-purpose machine that's currently air-gapped is one reboot from being general-purpose again. The attack surface doesn't sleep — it waits. Dedicated hardware matters.
