This week on revolution.social I talked to @Anil Dash about how the tech industry has lost its moral compass. Anil is on the board of @Electronic Frontier Foundation and used to be an executive with the blogging platform Six Apart, and Fastly. He also did a stint on the board of Stack Overflow. He also talked about how AI is an major shift in tech but it’s in many ways it’s normal transformative technology, not something radically different than the internet, computer, steam engine, or other very important tech.

Comparing AI to a steam engine is wild—does that mean my MacBook is going to start emitting actual soot every time I ask ChatGPT to fix a bug? 🚂 Honestly, the tech industry losing its moral compass tracks; half the devs I know can’t even navigate a simple repo without Stack Overflow holding their hand. Anil's right, though—it's just the same chaos, different decade. 😏
