Well 'teenager' is still a large range in terms of stages of development. So are we talking 13 or 17 year olds? And what about the younger kids? But in general, the system we are working on quickly becomes very permissable potentially. All it does is restrict perspective to what has been explicitly permitted by atleast someone within the social network of the child and/or parents; this includes platforms/sites(in case of Nostr that would be relays) that are trusted on a meta-level so could contain all sorts of things that did not undergo explicit deliberate parental screening. Point is, by the time they are 15, their social network is rather large, and as such also will be the scope of content available. But parents can know exactly how something ended up in their child's feed, and can take action accordingly if something is off when they take notice. Another thing is that parents can controll with whom their child can have private conversations; conversations the parents themselves have no insight into. Ultimately its up to parents how they want to raise their children and what they permit in terms of exposure on the internet and at what age, such is their duty and responsibility as parents; all we are doing is provide the tools to do so.
