In europe, separating the church and state was a long, slow, and sometimes violent process.
Sounds like the separation of money and state may be as well.

MONEY SHOULD NOT BE POLITICAL!
I wish the media would hammer this narrative, that our money is political, even try to justify why that is good, because I think that might just be the trigger to get people to think twice about what money is.
Most people don't know what money is, but they for sure as hell don't expect that it was created in the form made by politicians. People intuitively think it is a _neutral_ tool and they need to understand that it is not so they can finally start the journey we all have been on.
The way they say this with such “authority” is the real signal
