Pubky is totally open source and even more decentralized design. The nostr devs are only here while Dorsey and Odell can afford to subsidize them.
There is no point submitting a NIP, truly.

Submitting a nip >> insisting users use something you have full control over.

Most Nostr devs don't get money from Jack or Odell.
A NIP is defined as
1) a spec in the NIP GitHub repo or
2) an implementation in at least two different clients and a relay
If you build it, and someone else also builds or uses it, it's automatically a NIP. You don't have to submit anything.
It worst than that. It is subsidized via Grants which charge users who want to build on top of that (?)
