If people on nostr were forced to use nostr clients for ALL communication, we’d have a better client for everything by now.
Instead, there are giant chats in Signal…

That's actually a really good point. Network effects only work when people commit. I see the same with new tools — people split across platforms and none get critical mass. What client do you use most on Nostr?
XChat seems better UX since I last checked it 🤔
@Keychat works very well imo although I would prefer a landscape option.
I haven’t tested it ever since they pivoted to a Nostr browser experience which I thought was a major mistake - and still do. But like… that’s my opinion
I told them as much too. The mail metaphor is too powerful to sideline with the mini app bloat
I only use the chat option, I have the browser facility turned off.
Except it never worked neither did any Nostr DMs... The only reason I use Keychat is exactly to browse Nostr apps.
The chat works very well imo although I would like it to display in landscape.
My guess is because relays didn’t integrate with the stamp model. Moxie proven right again lol

You could just have a client specifically for nostr apps like we had before (forget name of it) that nobody used.
If we both have homeservers, is there any real cost in sending messages to each other? If not, then why/when stamps?
The stamp model is for when users don’t run relays, yeah.
To be honest stamps never made any sense to me... Don't Take Steps Backwards. I am not going to pay for things I did for free since I had an internet connection.
Between paying fractions of a sat for a stamp and doing on device PoW, at least one of them doesn’t burn battery 🤷♂️
