Imagine you were an early automobile adopter. Like way back when basically no one used cars, and everyone rode horses and carriages or just walked everywhere. Image you were that one lunatic scientist guy or some rich weirdo or something who decided that they wanted an automobile even though there weren’t any gas stations in his town yet. And then lets say you find a buddy a town over or something and he has an automobile too and you like meetup and talk about your cars or whatever. Maybe those guys could see that cars were going to change everything. Maybe one of them had an opportunity to talk to a young Henry Ford or someone who could see that the intersection of manufacturing capacity, electricity and oil production and refinement were all coming together at the right time for the eventual mass production of automobiles. Imagine all the cool shit those guys probably thought of that everyone else in the town said sounded crazy AF. They’d be getting drunk together at the local saloon telling everyone that soon everyone would have cars, there would be smooth roads and gas stations everywhere all catered to making driving a car an excellent and pleasant experience. And that cars would eventually get amazingly simple to operate (once they finally get the fucking UI right - haha -) and would be incredibly reliable. People would be able to travel hundreds of miles in a single day and at speeds many times faster than a horse. How would people live, how would they work, how many new industries would be created in a post-hyperautomobilization world.
