What are the implications of this? I think they want to implement their own proprietary eye ball scanning and don't want outside competition.

Let me guess… Step 2). Custodial charges for obstruction of justice, if the police don’t get the Sys Admin credentials? Step 3). Hand the machines over to multiple international cyber forensic consultants?

Same threat is in play when cross-border CBDC is implemented. I can't think about a scenario when I would be OK with a random state and random person accessing my financial data and nobody should be OK with this. Risk outweighs convenience.
