My syntropic row is over 18 months old now & everything is booming. I've just pollarded my eucalyptus & icecream bean trees in there now that we've entered autumn to allow more sun in. The mulch is getting pretty deep now with plenty of fungus activity in it. I think a big portion of the great growth is from the relatively wet conditions where the row is (basically a creek flat). I also kicked it off with a load of woodchips from an arborist. I've linked up my older fruit trees with mulched rows too. Those support trees aren't growing as quickly as the others on the creek flat. I'm sold on the syntopic technique & approach for establishing a food forest. It will be interesting to see how it all matures. Good to see you talking about it!
