Ive always warned against coinos because of their recent hack that exposed really bad opsec, but if you sign up with email instead of nsec its probably not too big a deal Use them because they support creating BOLT12 offers, which lets Ocean pay my mining rewards over lightning. Its not bad
Wait what? I signed up for Yakihone because I heard it was decent with the wallet built in, is this the same thing as CoinOs? I used the nsec because it was only read only otherwise? Now I'm all paranoid, Nostr is really fucking annoying and frustrating to use.
Ideally, any service like that should be used with a signing app like Amber. Which coinos doesnt support, I dont believe. Putting your nsec anywhere is incredibly dangerous. Although Im guilty of doing it a bit. Yakihone sounds like a whole nostr client so Im not sure what their setup is like, havent really heard of them. Yea, it can definitely be frustrating and unintuitive. Better tools can be built though, but Im sure itll be a slow process
Nostr couldnt be annoying enough to stop me from shilling it as a solution to all these other platforms though ๐Ÿ˜‰
Ahh sorry, Ive mentioned it before and advised not to use it. I was just saying basically it could be worse if youre looking for alternatives lol
Yea I'm trying. It was just easier to set up. But it also keeps failing. I just reverted it back to the primal wallet even though I don't like that one because I can't zap from my preferred client with that. ๐Ÿ˜ญ I'll try Alby again when I get more emotional fortitude
Idk it doesn't feel like verifying when I'm just chatting in comments. I'm used to referring to formal documentation to verify my work but that doesn't seem to exist here so I'm just left with bothering #asknostr which starts to feel like I'm being dumb and annoying after a bit ๐Ÿคฃ
Yea I think in Amythest there is only the field to input my lightning address. ๐Ÿค” This is why I was stuck using Primal for so long in the first place, and why minibits was such an easy fix because I just popped in the new lightning address and it worked right away. Or at least until it didn't ๐Ÿคฃ I'm going to experiment with Alby again later on we'll see how it goes
If youโ€™re using your Primal Lightning address, just set it once in Primal and it will populate on all other clients. Your profile data is just stored on relays. Plugging NWC into Amethyst is harder than it should be, though. The only way I know how to do it is to long press the โšก๏ธ button on a note and youโ€™ll get this option where you can scan or paste an NWC string. Best if you copy it from Primal and use the clipboard button to paste it into Amethyst. image
