It really helps to start unfollowing. If they take it personally, so what? It's a weird thing to be ego-hurt over, and if they only/mostly post noise, they need to wake up anyway. Besides, it's so small here, you can easily find them and follow again when appropriate. Doing this will cause your feed to be very slow, or come to a near halt. This caused me to do a couple of things. First, do something productive instead of social media. Second, it caused me to look for more people to add that have content, especially new users that came here to express their art. And third, I started looking at the conversation tab, instead of the feed tab, in my client. Using my client in ways that I had not before ended up in more fun and engagement. If you ditch, I totally understand, and support your decision. Even with the changes I made, I was considering it recently. I used to promote Nostr to friends, but now if the topic comes up, I end up filling them with warnings about the content and clients while pointing out the benefits.
