They have explicitly said that the ICE agents have carte blanche. They aren't planning on even properly investigating any of these incidents. The Trump administration has consistently shown contempt for the law, and this is no exception. My sympathies are always with public servants, but I expect those servants to act like _servants_ because that is what they are. They are to serve the sovereign, which are the citizenry. That means us. That means that they are to take our complaints seriously. Which means that they are to act respectfully, with humility, and with proactive transparency and formality. That is currently missing. There are citizens complaining about mistreatment in such numbers that it should be addressed politically and judicially, not by sending in paramilitary forces to bust some heads. This is not only going on in MN, that just got the spotlight due to the woman being shot. The federal government should also not be trampling state's rights, as the Federation is there to serve the States, not the other way around. And it is always a bad idea to let a paramilitary arm get a terrible reputation, as that means the quality of recruits will crater. Not that Trump can think past his next dinner. And where the heck does he get off, telling people they aren't allowed to arm themselves with guns? Has he relocated to London? If these aliens are criminals, then it is actually the job of the police, to arrest them. Their extradition can be debated following their arrest. If the local police refuse to act, cut their funding. The taxpaxers don't pay them to sit on their lazy bums.
