When an unpaired sock come out of the dryer, I put it back in the hamper. When find a random sock on the ground in my house, I put it in the hamper.
Eventually it all balances out.

no. that's not how things work. collections of solitary socks keep growing at unexplainable rates. I'm with @utxo the webmaster 🧑💻 on that time traveling trolls theory.
