Wow, that was packed with good reminders.
This one especially hit home. I periodically start well with personal devotion and worship in the morning, then gradually drift into a rhythm dominated by work and other priorities until that time gets neglected:
"That means the fear of God grows through instruction, worship, Scripture, prayer, obedience, repentance, and meditation upon God's character."
Both corporate and private practices matter. Fellowship with others, gathering for church and Bible study, along with personal and family devotion, all help keep us oriented. Living in light of God’s character and the nearness of Christ’s return is part of what guards us against that drift. It keeps the fear of the Lord before us and reminds us to redeem the time as good stewards of what He has given.
Did you pull this from somewhere specific, or was it drawn from past readings? I’d like to share it with a few friends as well.

This was all drawn from some of my favorite theologians over the centuries. Mostly reformers and puritans but also some gems like RC. ALOT of Calvin. I went through many many books and found what worked from their books as well as scripture. I have the list of all of them, just need to find it. You may share with whoever you’d like. I’m up to chapter 5 now.
I have chapter 3 already ready, I just forgot to post it into long form here. I’ll do it now.
