What I can say for now:
- #GrapheneOS has partnered with a major Android OEM. One of the top ten.
- We aim to have a device by H2 2026, but potentially 2027.
- We have early source access for patches and, soon, major releases through our partner.
- We are aiming to get their next generation flagship devices able to support installing GrapheneOS.
- The device will have the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850) SoC.
- We will continue to support Pixels if they continue to release with support. We will also aim to have Pixel 10 support once Android 16 QPR1 sources are available.

This is great!
Do you have any plans or knowledge on which secure element is used?
It will be the secure element that comes with the flagship Snapdragon SoC. It wouldn't be as secure as the Titan M2 secure elements in Tensor Pixels, but sufficient.
We need to get more devices out and hopefully with continued success we can look at doing more than just adding support to an upcoming device. Being able to produce something with more creative/technical control on our end is expensive.
One plus baby ! Hahah
Yo we need this on polymarket hahahah
I will pay iphone prices for a 5 inch phone
Such good news!
I'd prefer a later release over an earlier one that makes compromises.
First impressions matter.
Although pixel devices are extremely great hardware it is important that we have more options out there.
Graphene is hands down the best and most secure mobile operating system

Can I suggest ditching Android X support entirely.
Or do bank and government applications not work on Graphene OS even with android X support 🤷♂️
I don't know anything about the API changes, but it seems it's something that governments and banks wanted.
If I get a phone past Android 9. I simply don't want government slop installable.
Thinking about postmarket OS
Great
Will it have SD card support and/or headphone jack?
The walls are closing in on surveillance — and GrapheneOS is opening doors?
This. Small screen!
Awesome 🔥
"in the top ten" means no to my dream of running GrapheneOS on a Nothing device🥲. But I'll take it, GrapheneOS must live on.
Nice. This and the effort going into Linux phones are encouraging.
👀probably nothing
Good job guys!
Love it

Cool, so either Xiaomi, Realme or OnePlus. Great to hear - I'm sort of hoping this is a path to fully owned and good Linux phone...
Possibly Motorola
Do not forget people with low phone budget.
Sound good
“Sadly, GrapheneOS didn’t reveal the name of its new partner. However, folks are speculating it could be Nothing, given it’s one of the few OEMs that allow bootloader unlocking, which is a prerequisite for installing GrapheneOS. That said, Nothing doesn’t really qualify as a “major Android OEM” right now.”
… haha there’s something called Nothing?
Yes. They're getting quite popular.
but wordplay aside, getting back to the article, it wasn’t clear what is ‘Nothing’. An operating system? The gist seems to be - use Pixel phones running Graphene if you really value privacy.
Nothing is a device maker. Just look it up.
well, I won’t need to get a new phone for another several years or so, so just making a note of the whole privacy in a phone thing. That’s what comment sections are for yeah? Brief discussions of things. “Just look it up”. Rude.
Get yourself a new Pixel 5 on eBay, and degoogle it with iodé os.
Headphone support isn't necessary given how inexpensive UBC-to-3.5 adapters are.
SD card support (and removable battery) would be awesome.
👀
Alright alright
Very good news, so I will skip the #Pixel 10a and just wait for the new phone, but hopefully it will come with extended support as the Pixels do.
It would be great if that #Android OEM could also provide a tablet under the same conditions!
As someone that lived through OnePlus and CyanogenOS it was great and then became the downfall of Cyanogen.
How about they make new phones smaller instead of coping with your grandpas pixel
I hope GOS will accept BTC for purchase!
TBF I don't really care about the headphone jack it's be a nice-to-have but an SD card is a thing I really really want to have on a high end phone. Fuck whoever decided that they shouldn't be put on phones
Well, it doesn't seem like smaller phones are going to be produced anytime soon. You might be surprised how well phones run once they're de-googled. Battery life is amazing.
Great news indeed!
Slave mentality
i presume the device will come to the US market. correct?
I'm pretty sure they do it to sell larger memory models with higher margins.
OEM from China?
👀
Can't wait!
