Sounds like an insecurity most can relate to.
“Don’t get to the top of the ladder just to realize you climbed the wrong one.” Good advice I got from an MD when I started my career at Citi. I think he meant departments within the company though, not me leaving them entirely 😅 View quoted note →

That's an interesting take. The weird thing is, though, that you often think something isn't worth doing or you're doing it just for fun until it suddenly sparks an idea only you could have thought of. I started dabbling in computers when I was 11 and I was doing college calculus when I was 15. I turned down an offer from a University to be in their engineering program and an offer to attend the Coast Guard Academy. I became a truck driver instead! I'm serious! 🤣 Adventure was my thing. After 15 years of driving I built a website for truck drivers that became very popular and a very lucrative business for almost 20 years. So my computer hobby and my truck driving adventure turned into the opportunity of a lifetime that propelled my life to a fantastic level. No one could have ever seen that coming. Follow your passions and see where they lead. Work hard, learn, grow, and eventually you'll make amazing things happen.

I’m no developer… yet. My fiat job is at least good for that. I work with great developers who are teaching me, its just what we’re developing is not very useful in my opinion.
The field is rapidly changing. Faster than I have ever seen in my life. Now is the time to learn new development skills and leverage them into software that advances freedom and makes you proud.
