Agora looks awesome, but how do you stop scammers from just posting a believable story and raking in the bitcoin? Where’s the proof of work?
Great question It’s a focus right now for us To start, there was curation, which isn’t scalable and we knew that The next step was allowing Web of Trust Verification so if your friend or an organization you trust verifies a campaign, then you as a donor feel more confident That comes with having transparency on how each party verifies (which could be different) We don’t want “please scan your face”, “give us your government issued ID”, or “you must have a valid US bank account” Instead we want to be closer to “3 of your friends vouch for this person that needs help” or “this reputable organization that has a history of proof of work has laid out their verification process and vouches for this campaign” And then from there it’s up to the user to decide how much signal that gives them on legitimacy Hopefully, I explained that well
