HEALTH of the users is more important to nostr than dumb econometric keynesian aggregation. i'd say that @Pip the WoT guy and his analytics systems give much more accurate data because he is building stuff that works within the context of a decentralized network, it requires a lot more probing to find all the data, this chart was generated by an app that probably only counts like 30 big relays and ignores the little ones. plus, there is no way to get this access required to small relays without negotiating to get access to them. good. that's a sign that auth gating access to relays DOES enhance privacy.
