that channel is alright actually. they did an interview with Amir that was extremely cool.
but "Crypto Tips?" smh π€¨
Do you have link to that interview please?
Is it though?
What better can you suggest?
Most wallets incentivize address reuse, donβt connect over tor
We are currently not sure if the ring signatures are already broken or if they are still safe.
Bitcoin is exactly as safe as bitcoin used with a good non deterministic coin join.
In both you have extremely huge pitfalls
Most wallets will give you a new sub address for a new transaction. Most wallets have Tor built in.
The decoy system is broken by passive adversaries (chain analytic companies and intelligence oolperations) and heavily reduces the privacy guarantees. Still better than Bitcoin, though.
That's why you should know about the risk vectors according to your exposure. Churning is one such solution if you are high risk.
With FCMP++ Monero will gain the high ground again and as a bonus will have LN compatibility.
There are still challenges ahead in this arms race.
So how do you transact without giving address details?
But most importantly, #monero is the ULTIMATE fungible coin
I don't know of a single Monero wallet that doesn't cycle through subaddresses by default.
Feather, Stack, and Cake Wallet all have Tor built in the wallet
The problem is it costs time and money to coinjoin so most people wont do it. Monero you just press send and its the equivalent of having a default "coinjoin" without needing to wait or pay extra money. To any third party observer addresses on Moneros chain are unlinkable to public addresses. Theres also no ability to perform amount analysis like you can with coinjoins since they're hidden by default on Monero.
I will give you that ring signatures (and coinjoins) are not good enough long term (though better privacy than 99% of blockchains out there). Which is why Monero is moving to FCMP++
Postal address dude.
