for what its worth, Benjamin Franklin had his own communications company, printing press (the 18th century equivalent of social media i reckon), wrote many things society were not ready for nor aware about, had a great sense of humour, loved open source - he invented many and patented none, did not have formal education, was a polymath in arts, science, philosophy and eventually became the Founding Father of the US and were among the few influential figures involved in the creation of the US Constitution

Social media turned out to become the attack vector undermining true democracy. We did not expect that. That’s why it’s not the constitution but decentralized protocols that will save it.
