What is the laymanβs explanation on what this does and its benefits
Incredibly high performance indexer. Probably the highest performing one. If you share youβre nice with your neighbors and family or have deep wallets it can cut seconds off updating your wallet. 1.0 had a problem with the database being corrupted on power loss. 2.0 fixes that and had other improvements.

Thought y'all were approving stuff on the old packaging standard anymore...
We're not encouraging it since 040 exists now. But we are also not going to prevent something for 0351 if it's ready to go
K I had 3 services ready to go nearly a year ago and was told on matrix by y'all that new packages weren't being accepted for the old packaging standard BC 040 would be released in q1 this year.
We were advising people not to package for 0351, because we thought 040 was much closer than it was. That advisory was obviously a mistake. But I don't think we ever rejcted anything. You had 3 services done? What are they?
Meshtastic, kanbanstr and I forget the third (maybe flotilla). I had only submitted one because I wanted to go through the whole process so I could try to get a whole stamping process done as my goal for the year was to do 10, one of which was going to be enabling the CICD pipelines for Gitea but once I was told to nothing new was being accepted for the "old" registry I pivoted to working on other stuff.
Is it possible to choose what version of core to run on the start9? Just the knots protocol, Because you still need to download the whole blockchain before you use knots. Asking for a friend.
You can choose whether to run Core or Knots, and you can switch between them without needing to resync the chain. Hope that answers your question
I guess what I am asking is if I can choose what version to update to. The core node is just a client right? Maybe some backend work on the client to choose what version is the solution?
In the marketplace listing, you can click "versions" and select the version you want to install.
