You aren't missing anything. The clients just aren't there yet but I agree it's totally doable. Here's the sort of UX I'll imitate for nostr:nprofile1qqsgthcq5tm2jxz9x4xg6tvlh26qq2actdpztwh2kc86lvjc03gr36spzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgtckgrenr image image

That'll help. The NIP exists, and some calendars have been made (screenshots from NostrCal and ZapDash attached), but there's either 1) not a way to discover, 2) or find a reliably populated, 3) and then remind oneself, to attend virtual events. Either the relays or calendar clients aren't communicating the events, or organizers just aren't sharing them using the calendaring tools properly. nostr:npub1ve8qwrlztemdmnh62jffcr0y9m9dpqgqjdg8ufx7gc3qw5wdk74qyv9ka6 has a solid calendar for meat space gatherings. But we have no digital equivalent. image image
