Thank you @Efrat Fenigson and @M A D E X , always love listening to a creator striving to better themself, but particularly loved to call to have kids, yes they’re hard work, but they are your legacy. Choosing to not have kids, whether for “the career” or because of “the cost” is fiat short termism embodied. Absolutely right, if there are no kids, who will there be to watch, to speak to, to live through once all your friends have gone? Looking at my late grandfather, his kids, grandkids and great grandkids were always up for a visit, we were his life, and alway pleased to spend time right up until the end, with that so quickly transferring to the generation of my own mum and dad, me, my brother and our kids are their life (give or take a little love my old man still has to beers with the boys, business, shooting and tractors, legend!). “Our legacy won’t be one of compromise” 🫡🙌 https://fountain.fm/episode/epSRBcDa9ScmbUyWzcde image

“There are three things in your composition; body, breath and mind. The first two are yours to the extent that you must take care of them, but only the third is in the full sense your own” #meditations book 12 verse 3 “I have often wondered how it is that everyone loves himself more than anyone else, but rates his own judgement of himself below that of others.” Verse 4. Deep breath, lift something heavy, you got this, roll some dice, don’t worry what others are thinking, be happy within yourself. Love yourself, build something, show that love to others, go pet your dog, no matter what, he probably still loves you more than you can show. image

Gm nostriches, some stressful times for the eldest yesterday, being 13 can be very tough, never known a “coke float” to lead to so much emotion before. Suppose it’s time to head out for some more time on the “fettled” bike, with new grips and a bigger front wheel. When simple things make Dad happy, maybe time to focus on what Dad says is a good way to spend your time. Also take a deep breath and play that game with her as well, she just needs some support and attention, without being confused by all the Netflix crap. But for the moment, I’ll just let her sleep. #coffeechain 2 being lines up In other news, enjoying @nat brunell with Mark Moss, bought some Satsuma for fun, so interesting to see what was happening behind the scenes, zero shocks it was the UK regulator that knew capped them. #bookstr calling me away from the podcasts. #gestalt #meditations #sleep https://fountain.fm/episode/t4E5akqpkoYqKMvtgGTf image

Gm UK nostriches, self sovereignty is growing more important than ever, the economy has been strip mined (h/t @allen ) by politicians aiming for short term results ,accelerated by the introduction of low wage workers pushing GDP while ruining GDP per capita (and sucking from the benefits teat). The scale on this graph is wild, doesn’t even go up to 1% and given the rate of increase of the money supply and public sector spending, this whole measure is absolute garbage. Watched a Dom Frisby yesterday hoping for an answer to “is the UK broke?”, didn’t get an answer outside it not mattering, if you don’t make any money and borrowing costs are 🚀, you’re either broke or heading that way, gradually then suddenly. @Parker Lewis 🫡🙌 Batten down the hatches of your Bitcoin bitches, third world status coming to a shire near you. image

Gm nostriches, fun times with children and bikes yesterday, eclipse to finish the day off with celestial alignment potentially impacting some of the moods in the household….. Enjoying a little bit of coolness before a casual 34 plus degree day with a rather full #coffeechain, weather warning blaring everywhere, but hoping to grab another bike ride, this time solo but maybe not quite as hectic at Sunday. Prepping for moving everyone’s mattresses downstairs to cope with the warm weather through the day. Maybe a sign of general warming as never remember doing that “in the older days”

Becoming more and more common place, but to be honest, with a bit of preparation, a plus 30 degree day out on the bikes with the small people is very manageable. Yes, ice cream was had, but it now seems so long ago that it was the climbing trees that was the real hit!

Hold the line, self-custody is non negotiable. This is how to work against the system that wants to only transacting on their rails so they can keep tabs on us. View quoted note →

Gm nostriches, grabbing and morning doom porn, Japan ditching treasuries, the US treasury buying yen like it’s going out of fashion while ditching euro bonds. Old news but a good starter, now into china draining gold from the US. So US debt getting more expensive to service, the biggest asset in the world being drain from it as well. Hollowing out never looks so blatant before. The dollar getting punched from both sides, physical assets getting juiced, the US needing a new way to save their middle class and we haven’t even touched on AI, cheers @Contra for the pure clarity, the masses won’t even realise what is going on and just happy with their dopamine hit from the AI slop that will be replacing them. #coffechain hitting the mark, aiming again to get the small people out on their bikes, partial solar eclipse this evening………. In other news, passed the 7th anniversary of snapping the fuck out of my ankle, a good wake up call to sort myself out. Ankle may have reminded me this morning it needs coaxing into action, but she’s still good, and since 7 years ago, finances, knowledge and fitness all in a much better position. Don’t take a set back as the end of the road, reset, reflect, improve, put in the work. Where ever you are, you can still get better, and your advantage, most people won’t.

Ga nostriches, attempting to upload some more ramblings to nostr reads, so thought I’d review an old pod with Gloria, didn’t want to make a comment without a quick reflection on what she said with @Peter McCormack. Not quite an “um, like, yeah” as I remembered, but really didn’t answer many questions well or appreciate the consequences of some of the issues being discussed. Also had real issues with the “new versions are for new features, then we fix the bugs later”, ngl, I’d prefer some high reliability systems engineers whispering into her ears that bitcoin doesn’t need many “new features”. https://fountain.fm/clip/Uy5lAjZZRsvak3fQiOwU

Happy to see the jet trails dissipating quickly. The sun appears to be too strong for the fly pot ash spreaders to think they’re making a difference. image
