got my ego powerhead today the outside of the EGO box was completely mauled - bent, torn and taped back together i called the store and they said they would refund it but said i could open it and look inside just in case it survived i opened it and it looks mint EGO as usual did an amazing job with packaging - very well protected without any use of plastic - only cardboard, but LOTS of it i realized it with my first EGO that this is a Chinese company that is determined to out-European the Europeans. they had the most detailed manual with probably over 100 safety warnings. the most detail oriented and overkill packaging solution with zero use of plastic. basically EGO took note of the negative stereotypes about Chinese products and decided to over-compensate by going in the opposite direction 10X. instead of cutting corners at every opportunity EGO over-designs, over-engineers and over-builds then over-packages just the way i like it. then again, i only ever had their commercial grade units but they're the Porsche of electric gardening tools. haven't tested the powerhead yet. it might still be broken. but i am already impressed by the fact that i didn't just find pieces of it after opening the box.

my EGO attachments came today tomorrow i should get the power head and the day after that the leaf blower then i have to edge the sidewalks and driveway ... and order the power washing Mexicans ... decided that since the power wash is done roughly only 2X a year ( versus mowing every week and edging perhaps every month ) that it makes no sense to invest in equipment that will only be used twice a year also i am just partial to EGO equipment so if i can get something from EGO i do and use it but if i can't then it's a job for the Mexicans in case of power washer EGO has it but it's not Commercial grade so no go for me ... all the tools i am receiving this week that i will use for edging are commercial grade ... and i still need a hedge trimmer attachment and still want ( but do not need ) the rotary scissors a.k.a. "reciprocator" attachment ...
