🔒 MultiSig received a complete makeover thanks to @UNCLE ROCKSTAR & @kukks. You can now easily manage collaborative custody with multiple signatures, coordinate signatures (by sending an email), sign via any hardware wallet and get email notifications whenever there's a status update.
⚡️We've significantly improved fee acceleration. Merchants can effortlessly speed up transactions stuck in the mempool using Replace-By-Fee (RBF) for outgoing payments or batch-accelerate incoming transactions with Child-Pays-for-Parent (CPFP) without relaying on a third-party service and paying additional service fees for acceleration.
🧩 ZCash and Monero support has transitioned from the core BTCPay codebase to community-maintained plugins. Merchants using XMR or ZEC will be promoted to install plugins for smooth migration and backward compatibility.
Modularization of the payment method support is another step towards having a leaner BTCPay core codebase, while external features can evolve independently under the supervision of their own maintainers and communities.
🛒 Shopify V2 is here! Our integration now fully supports upcoming Shopify API changes, ensuring a seamless migration. Merchants must upgrade by August 2025 to maintain uninterrupted payments on their Shopify stores. Thanks to @ndeet, @npub1x70e...u76e and @Nicolas Dorier for their work.
👻New Ghost integration (by @npub1x70e...u76e), empowers content creators and publishers to accept Bitcoin donations, set up paywalls or offer memberships all effortlessly managed through BTCPay Server.
📱Our Ecwid integration (by SolutionsNisaba) allows merchants to easily accept Bitcoin payments and sell across popular social platforms like
Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. This opens Bitcoin acceptance to Ecwid’s extensive user base of over 665,000 users.
🔌 Introducing new plugins: Cash Payment Method by @UNCLE ROCKSTAR simplifies cash transactions for physical merchants, while Satoshi Tickets by @npub1x70e...u76e provides an integrated event ticketing solution directly within BTCPay Server.

While it may not seem immediately obvious, we expect users to see the full potential of 2.0 in the upcoming months, as the ecosystem continues to thrive and build on top of it. With BTCPay Server 2.0, we’re introducing breaking changes in our API that allow us to eliminate the technical debt that has accumulated over the years.
Updating to BTCPay Server 2.0 is a one-way process with no option for rolling back. Because of that, we're making it opt-in, requiring that you SSH into your server and run:

Seamless integration into existing systems remains one of our top priorities, and we’re excited to introduce three new e-commerce integrations that expand the possibilities for merchants:

- BigCommerce

With 2.0 we wanted to do all the hard work, most of which may be invisible, but it sets a great base on what we’re aiming to do in 2025. Keep an eye on the upcoming minor releases that we’ll ship if we notice any bugs. In the next few big releases we’re hoping to ship some of the most requested features that further enhance our mission.
