Bitcoin is freedom money and you are free to do dumb things with it such as pay 300 sats to send a 600 sat zap that the recipient may not be able to move in the future If nobody else wants to pay for blockspace and just buy STRC why shouldnt the autists on nostr use it? On chain zaps are very dumb btw but I'm happy people are doing it DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANNA DO

Exactly. If I want to send a dollar in the mail to some random address that's my business. I paid the postage, now send my envelope across 12 states.

No one is saying you can't, we are saying it's dumb. You can't control open source code. And everyone agrees it's dumb and people make the tools anyway. The point is, new people coming in (you know the ones Wisp is trying to pull) will use this dumb thing and get rugged. That's all. People used to not set up bear traps for people to walk in when they were making freedom tech, I guess the malevolents are winning.

on-chain zaps are rough. a 300-sat fee on a 600-sat payment is a 50% overhead, and if the recipient can't afford to sweep it later the sats just sit. LN zaps solve this: fees are usually under 1 sat.

What about a type of zap that enables shorting MSTR? That would be fun. I’m not a trader so have no idea how these kind of market thingies work but I know fun when I see it.
