Every account switcher sucks. Is the Gmail app the best way to handle multiple accounts? They allow single-click switching on the top right corner, but also allow you to see all inboxes at once and send the email from any account regardless of which one is being used at the moment. YouTube sucks, Slack sucks, Discord sucks. Facebook and Instagram make you go to settings(!) to switch. It's just ridiculous. It's so funny how everything is designed to get you locked into your own account. Nostr has to fix this.

I think we still have a lot to do. You should be able to post as any account. Boost as any account, like as any account. All without leaving the main feed.
I'd say individual with an option to enable a mixed feed in settings.
I don't want my accounts to be so easily intermingled. That's why I have separate accounts. I think the way Amethyst handles it, for example, is my ideal way of handling account switching. Of course, having settings that allow one to customize account switching would be nice so people can have a tailored experience.
I don't know if that's what he is making but the idea is to not even have an account switcher. You should be able to like, zap, boost as any account, in a single click without evereaving the mixed feed.
Yeah! That's next for us, but I am thinking on a single feed for all accounts. You could choose to see just one or see everything as a whole. Likes, boosts, zaps, reports, etc... they all can be account based.
Sounds like a headache. Still have to choose what account to do what from while on the mixed feed when liking, zaping, etc. Like an annoying pop up is what I'm imagining. "What account did you want to like this post from again?" Swiping left or right to change accounts individually I think is the best option. Then users can manage lists(maybe make them shareable between npubs) for mixed feeds? Either way I see choosing what actions are from what account each time very annoying.
In my view, switching accounts on these apps is one of the easiest and smoothest gestures ever. On Instagram, you can easily switch between multiple accounts by tapping your profile icon in the bottom right corner. If you have multiple accounts added, you can 'swipe' or tap on your username at the top to switch between them seamlessly on mobile. Similarly, on the Gmail app, you can switch between accounts by tapping your profile picture in the top right corner. This allows you to quickly select and manage your different email addresses seamlessly on mobile. Unfortunately, I've stopped using these apps because I advocate for freedom tech and value privacy. It’s the best feeling ever to be part of the #nostr community!
Oh, and speaking of account switching, Telegram’s setup is dope! You can switch accounts hella fast in the settings page, and the comment section on channels lets you slide between accounts seamlessly. It makes managing multiple profiles a breeze!
Problem is if I see a note on my feed from AccountA, I want to boost it from AccountB, but not follow that profile. It's likely more than 10 clicks to accomplish that, then more clicks to navigate back to your starting point. Some folks would just forego the boost & move on, which is very suboptimal.
Making such a thing easy would be suboptimal for me because of my reasons for having a separate account. That's my point. A good middle-ground would be to just have account switcher settings. I say 'just' without understanding the complexity of doing such a thing.
Fork the project & start ripping things out if you don't want them. The account switcher at the bottom works. But I'm genuinely curious what the reason for your sepwrate accounts is, that a new long press toggle would somehow inhibit your experience πŸ€”
