At nostr's current stage it can't replace a phone's OS, there's no nostr OS dev team But we need more non-Google-certified Android phones, regardless of nostr And it would also be good if those phones were pre loaded with nostr apps

Take that crappy e-ink phone I saw in some note and make it not ugly and build in nostr and I’m in!
But how if the existing stuff is made to be obsolete after a couple of years max, and sorce you to buy the new version, while you constantly have to update the software that like now implements block on open software downloads.. It's not our phone.. it's like money in the bank.
I would distinguish a phone from a device. The phone is physically at you, so if you can reflash it, then it can be yours. The bank is someone elses hardware. What I am saying is, that reusing these devices without being forced to buy a new one, could lower the barrier. But on the other hand, would be nice to financially support those companies by buying their products who has a similar worldview as us. So we make a difference by financial incentives.
Very fair point and distinction.. I agree. Yes being able to reuse devices how we want would be great. I hope more companies will arise and leverage this concept, if there's a need, there's a market where someone can arbitrage and make profit from it creating value.. 🍀
any ideas on how to force technology companies to open the development environment for their phones? or some idea so that one can create their own cell phones with rastberry pi
