In the last, idk, 112 years or so I agree. The Revolution, 1812, and Confederate color revolution were all crucial to those who were able to enjoy their fruits. It does seem that way to me too. I think they were fighting to preserve their way of life at the time. Or at least to prevent being taken over by outsiders. And they did win that battle, didn’t they? It’s just so hard for me to take the stance that it was a waste. Do you think there’s ever a sacrifice big enough to cause generations to maintain culture/traditions indefinitely? I’m not sure.
