Huge congrats to @primal on their App Store release. The integrated Lightning wallet with the ability to acquire sats through Apple Pay is 😍. It’s a huge step forward in bringing nostr and bitcoin into a more mainstream audience and I’m totally here for it. Very, very well done. image

I know there will be lots of people complaining about the use of the app store payment rails for acquiring sats - but that was undeniably the fastest and easiest experience I’ve ever had creating and funding a lightning wallet. Well done @primal !!
In next updates can I send sats to Google pay or Samsung pay in android system or just this service for ios system?
Apple Pay doesn’t have fees on top; 30% is for in-app purchases during the first year. So this is cheap+easy but KYC’d sats.
Yeah 30% to Apple, but it’s still fantastic fun for new people. I love all this going on. Just a year ago we had none of this . 🔥
So impressed with the quality of your work and super-excited for the role that @primal is going to play navigating nostr into the mainstream. I’ve been advocating for clients to build in wallets with acquiring for a long time and yours is the best execution I’ve seen. So well done, miljan 👏 @R1F /create a hip hop inspired celebration song that honors invention and beautiful design

lol what a scam. This is akin to a utility price gouging for electricity. Google and Apple have to buy the government because they know the reality is that at some point in the future, they will be regulated as public utilities
No self respecting Bitcoiner that loves freedom and privacy should use or be involved with Apple products or their walled garden ecosystem.
Spreads used to be wide on btc. They will tighten over time. The 30% is a foothold in ease of onboarding people to freedom tech. If the market demands it, they will seek it and bypass apple.

Lol, I need a Name and verify my Email address? Thats so 2022. Don’t like it, other than that the client looks nice and intuitive.
With the way the UK keeps blocking Bitcoin adoption, I wouldn’t be surprised if I lose close to 30% on a regular buy anyway. Couple that with the hassle of jumping through hoops having to convert currencies, moving through different platforms etc, it takes up a lot of time and effort. Honestly, if it’s just for a zap wallet, this sounds like a smooth experience and I wouldn’t mind losing the 30% to just be able to top up small amounts.
I take that back, it’s *not* using Apple Pay as the OP says. It’s in-app purchase which means the 30% fee is taken as you stated. 😕 image

The exchanges are selling the bitcoin. Apple is just using their hardware to gatekeep software. It’s not the same. It’s a monopoly.
