Okay. But why domesticated father? This rings alarm bells where I'm concerned that this sets up the argument that domestication... "submission" is for women. And men need to be "dominant" ...which brings us back to the original post.

The whole submission <-> domination perspective is pretty fucked. no one should be either. We should all be autonomous and respect the autonomy of others.
To me, it's not about domination/submission, but about growing up, maturing. That has to happen for all humans, I wouldn't pick up just the father, but both parents.
The problem with domestication is not only the submission, but mainly the fact that they don't have to mature. See the world truly. Make choices, even in presence of uncertainty. I think this is one of the problems of humanity currently. Giving up on life, living in fear, hoping someone would come and save them, mostly from themselves.
