Video games and porn probably prevent so many teenage pregnancies. I remember in my high school we had a high teenage pregnancy rate and all I could think about is how do I avoid the same fate. Naturally, video games helped a lot. Who has time for girls when you’re busy at a lan party! 🤣 I’m thankful video games existed then.

Now, my brother, who didn’t play as many video games as me ended up getting a girl pregnant in high school and that nearly ruined his life. Half of his life he was miserable. Lucked into a decent job early on - and I really mean luck… and that saved him.
The state of video games today are very bad, ngl, but hating on video games is like hating on movies or music or any other form of artistic expression. The right content , at the right time, grows your mind. I'm glad to have grown up with video games. It enhances the living experience, it's also amazing when shared with friends.

Yep. Some of the best memories I have are those of moments shared with friends while playing games.
yeah, there is a bunch of games i can cite that expanded my mind... the original Dune game, a number of text based adventures i played in highschool, Half Life 2, Stalker series, The Long Dark, Dying Light, the Tomb Raider reboot (those were especially illuminating). i didn't really play much games between 1994 and 2005, HL2 was the thing that got me into it again.
My brother got a degree in computer science, never got a job, and plays video games all the time. He never knocked anyone up, but being childless didn't enhance his life.
I have a few in my family, that don't play video games, no weed or intoxicants, have been childless and plan to be for their remaining lives, making a scapegoat of things you don't like/understand is stupid. Let people enjoy their lives and have experiences they like.

People use various outlets differently. Sounds like your brother is using games to escape reality but that doesn’t make games bad or anything - it’s an outlet like many others.
I suspect he has autism and perseverates on video games. It might be unrelated to the games itself.
