Please @roya ୨୧ - drop the spammer accounts you're following. They are scum. A kiddy porn bot(s) should not be getting this many follows 💀

So thats why im getting attacked rn right!? image One account leaves underage shit on every note i put up pretty much. The others are there to gather trust... do some real research please and speak to those who DO get follow spammed and have shit thrown onto their feed.
When they decide to come for you... they're not going to be outright idiots about it. These are the same people who were trying to grift people on geyser for a fake sick child.
Yea they went after jake wodehouse and anyone in my threads. I don't think its poltically motivated as they seem to get angry and spam those who repost my messages about them
I think it's just going to be a battle that lasts forever, especially if theres no monetary cost to them posting. My npub is for life i guess so this is what I have to work with now 😂

🤣 don’t be too sure about the for life part. I completely by accident totally deleted my last account.
Nowclip sends nonstop junk. The others follow spam me at exact same times. Most if not all use the botrift nip05. 🤷‍♂️
Honestly, I don't know. People have tried to intimidate me several times to get me to stop my work on Nostr, but he just seems like a crazy person who picks on everyone.
For me personally... I think it's when they are a bot made for nefarious purposes to the detriment of the network/protocol and it's entire community. I didn't mind the follow bots for over a year now. It's once I get targetted for calling out a geyser scam and I see these shitty accounts with zero self made content congregate together... makes me wanna whip out the ban hammer 😂 I get it tho, this aint easy by any means to be the person who chooses 👍 or 👎 - to me it was a bit of a rabbit hole and I havent scratched much yet.
That’s not my question. In order to create a bot filter that works reliably, I need to know how to define them with logic. What specific criteria defines a bot that I can use to detect them just by scanning their profile?
Ahhh, sorry. Right now one thing I can think of is any account holding a botrift.com nip05 looks very sus. Also there is the account going around calling everyone a pedo, that is usually named "nowclips" but it can be many variations of that such as "Nowclips" or "nowclipps" etc. Not sure how you would scour for that tho. I did make it so a few words are on my mutable just a bit earlier. I'll give it a good go now on desktop.
I’m going to need more than that to go on, unfortunately. I can definitely add in some NIP-05 blacklisting presets, but that’s going to be trivial to get around. It’s kind of like how people think Bitcoin Knots stops spam from getting into blocks, as if spammers only have one technique.
Yup totally understand. One thing I'm starting to notice is that the accounts I accuse of being botted... all share the same WoS LNURL. So far though I've found one that belongs to a coinos and seems like a real-ish account. @Zed - Tyrik Nelson @Thespian - Thespian @Hans - Hans These three look legit and have different LNURLs, regular postings, no reposts as far as the eye can see. Maybe they're being taken for a ride by botrift... no idea. Posted the mutable list now, sorry it took longer than expected. When clicking on reason for entered npubs it sometimes gave me the option of 2 reason bars instead of 1.
Yup... the dude gets angry and he just goes on a social media rampage pretty much.
You reckon? With the lnurl being the same for five npubs? I thought the only way to determine if they're the same operator would be by IP address they posted with? Sorry if I'm way off or don't know crap, I'd like to learn!
Hi, I do not engage directly that often here. I do love this platform. What happened? What can I do to prevent any further unwanted behaviour? Has the account been taken over by a bad bot? Thank you
Nah, you're all good!! Just the nip05 provider or accounts with your provider might be bot accounts. I saw your profile though and can't see it being linked to the sat scammer. You don't have to change your nip05 by any means but nostrcheck.me does them for free I think if you do decide to go down that path. I'm just hella sus on a few accounts that are sharing the same wallet address.
I'd like to confirm I'm not a bot! I was followed by an acct advertising botrift.com. I wanted to get verified so I bought an NIP-50 from botrift. 1 year sub for 100 sats WAYYYY better than the 8k sats / month for Primal premium. ⚡Stack Sats⚡ ⚠️Don't trust, verify⚠️
🙏 - thanks chief! I mean tzongocu is already liking my posts first thing when I wake up.. not that I'm complaining but after muting/reporting him I feel the need for my client to not show me anything from that npub ever again lol. Gonna be asking my resident nostr advisor (tekkadan) to teach me something.
NIP-05 is a group signaling mechanism, being able to block anyone with a nostr address from some domain should be an option anyway. I've been asking for this ever since the storm from nostrich.house
Also there are heaps of free nip05 providers for decent domains. Check out nostrcheck.me or even invest in your own domain using fiat and setup NIP-05 on github pages for free. Looks way cooler having your own domain too!
If someone's allying with a domain that spams my periphery with noise, i really don't care about them and wouldn't bother validating their signal as a user in the first place. Being able to have a nostr address point to so many free domains, and they choose the spammy one? No thanks, i'd rather block the domain by default. If they want to be seen by me, they're welcome to do the "work" and change out their address.
On my freemium offering at NostrAddress.com it puts the free requests into an hourly batch before their address is live. It has mostly helped stop bots and bad actors as they don’t get the address immediately and have to wait. On the relay side of things, after the reply guy spam, I introduced nip05 validation on Nosflare. This let you block any event who’s author didn’t have a valid nip05 and you could also block specific nip05 domains. I knew in the future there would be spam bots who would have nip05s. It’s all a cat and mouse, whack-a-mole lol
Its a bidirectional relationship as well. Maybe I only want to communicate/see users from @mynostrcommunity.com or want to block anyone that does/nt have a NIP-05. Its about enabling optionality and multiple types of barriers. What ultimately makes nostr robust as a whole ecosystem is that there's no single criteria to game. You'll break nostr eventually if there's a singular best & unchangingWoT metric that all relays and clients use. Good luck doing that when every user, relay and client have even 10's of WoT algorithms to choose from.
Yup totally with you, being able to choose the notes you can and can't see through their domain affiliation is awesome. Whitelist + blacklist for clients maybe, filter by nip05, not just WoT or relay choice but implicit rules like a firewall... small communities would love this so they can exist in their own pocket of the internet without spam or intervention from unknowns. Surely this could be a model for more usage of nostr without nostr even being known to be the underlying tech?
https://github.com/mleku/reverse - this is a reverse proxy that i forked and modded to let you host a .well-known/nostr.json file (you have to create it manually). yes, you can directly see these by going to a nip-05 like https://turdsoup.com/.well-known/nostr.json i mean, you can basically copy one that exists, and just put your own npub and "username" (or _ so it shows as mine used to, just the domain, but actually _@mleku.dev, now i just use me@mleku.dev), and you put your hex pubkey in and voila (find it in one of your notes json if you want an easy way to get it). a $5/month VPS with one of these running on it might seem a bit expensive but the reverse proxy lets you put other things there too, like you could host your own media, a little web page, or like me, run a relay on it. though i would understand if you haven't the first clue about operating a unix shell.
Something that makes it not sound like it's trying to go against the Nipponese lol - um.... NIPEraser or something sounds good. That feature would be awesome, if having to mute every person you unfollow, that might be a nightmare depending on the length of the nip05 JSON file.
I hadn’t even thought about that. Glad I didn’t go with the word “nuke” in the title! How about something simpler, like Domain Purge, since that’s what it would functionally do. Enter a NIP-05 domain name and it will search for anyone you follow with that domain in their profile data, so you can mass-mute and unfollow them. This should be pretty straightforward.
