Run a node and encourage your friends to run a node too… Learned so much about the network by running a node.

If you orange pill someone, don’t stop at the exchange, or at the self custody part… help them run a node. nevent1qqsrgn4gy0trjw08mwapjfynmt2lrzyxea7eqvn29jyngaeknllc7rqpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgm26zgq

I want to do it for fun, and I hear it makes the Bitcoin network stronger and more resilient. I heard it is relatively cheap to run a ton of them. Any pointers will be highly appreciated

I heard running your own node basically does nothing. Only the major nodes really matter
Running one makes the network stronger... And only if you use it by connecting your wallet to it or using it for fee estimations or SOMETHING... But mostly for verifying payments to yourself. Running many more nodes, has no extra benefit to the Bitcoin network, maybe just to your own education.

His point is still valid. Theres not reason to run a ton of extra BTC nodes. Just pick one version and let your F&F connect their wallets to your node. (Maybe 2 if you want a alternate)
running a node matters for yourself you must use a node to interact with the bitcoin network, if you do not use your own node then you are trusting someone elses node
Use it is the critical part: you gotta receive bitcoin with it to gain the value of running the node. We need to see far stronger growth of p2p money and merchant adoption.

Hi Bitcoiners, dumb question in the world where is no dumb questions exist… :) just joined the Nostr and trying to set it up as much as possible for just joined dude :)). Wanted to get lightening address and made an Current account for myself, then added LA to my nostr profile as well. What next steps I should do to have Current wallet attached to my Nostr handle/profile? Thx in advance and a great weekend to you all. imoon.

They insist they want one, but it's too expensive for them.
When did I say that? I've always run a node. I said recently I don't have time to compile libre and run it just to make a point. But I did it anyways 😂
I've been on and off a lightning node 3 times though. I think this time I'm sticking with it. I've always run a core node though. For at least as long as I've had nostr. Probably ran one year or 2 before I came onto nostr.

My node is Bitcoin Knots. I deleted Bitcoin Core because it is poorly maintained and bugs were added instead of fixes.
