I just read this: Men want sex when they are stressed out. Women want sex when they aren’t stressed out. I think this is highly accurate.

Mostly.. I found the book “Come as you are” great at explaining this in terms of sexual accelerators and brakes, and every individual’s sensitivity to each.
We experience stresses everyday. Waking up is a stressful event. A man can transmute this sexual energy into purposeful action & drive. Ironically, this tends to make his partner pretty horny. It's generally when the man can't find a purpose that he experiences the frustration of it. He then seeks to offload this energy & find relief from it.
Temporary stress will increase testosterone levels in men and can least to increased libido. Chronic stress actually decrease testosterone (an effect of sustained increase in cortisol production).
