the fact that influencers cannot restrict replies on nostr remains incredibly underrated if the majority of bitcoin discussion moved here, instead of x, everyone would benefit

Hard agree. I’m spending all my social media time here now
It would get awfully noisy! Any, we are all influenzas to varying degrees. Let's try to push a circular economy, all this "never sell" mentality is detrimental to freedom from fiat!
Yes, but it's difficult when you're the only one who doesn't see a reply and the consequences/discussions that resulted from that post. For example, I was looking at the replies received by Peter Todd when he wrote about Ukraine's defence against Russia, from a pro-Ukraine point of view. From people asking how they can find Peter to kill him, "because he's in the open", to how they can't wait to see the kids in Ukraine dead and so on. Now let's imagine that there's a woman, or a young woman, who had those opinions and imagine what extra elements would be in those replies/conversations. That's why I said that I can't judge someone who chooses fences.
+ through zapping, over time, we could even separate signal from noise and bots, and gather the closest we can get to real “market sentiment” Plot twist: Nostr + zapping (Bitcoin) is the real antidote to “missinformation”. Eventually bureaucrats will have to bend to its realization
Does it suck to see things that we disagree with or find offensive? Maybe. But maybe we should curate stronger minds and learn to control our reactions. If we're triggered by something, generally that means there's something there worth exploring (within ourselves) Putting up fences just let's us avoid doing that work on ourselves that could be beneficial to us Words cannot hurt us, and the practice of countering poor communication makes us more resilient and free Just a counter point to consider..
<sarcasm> have we considered the fault with javier is that he is argentinian, instead of a libertarian? </sarcasm>
Out of all the shit, you decide to bring up PedoTodd who's at the same time pro-Ukraine and pro Palestine genocide? Yeah, let's proceed with blocking what others can see too. You sure you are at the right place here? 😂
💯 If replies & counters remain visible, manufactured consensus breaks down. #Nostr embodies #Bitcoin’s ethos of distrust & resistance to centralization (moderation), making #social discourse authentic and more truthful. #GROWNOSTR 💜

Can't wait for X to significantly drop the ball and every based human immigrating to Nostr for freedom of speech and value for value.

True. The inability to restrict replies enforces protocol-level neutrality. It removes the asymmetric control that influencers have on X, and aligns better with Bitcoin’s ethos of open, permissionless systems.
He never said they needed to do anything, but if they did do it, we'd all benefit. I dont agree with everything he says. Yes i believe the intelligent discourse on bitcoin will vastly benefit but you get the good with the bad... even amongst bitcoiners only, x is a shitshow...
Yeah I agree with that. But I’m questing the “democracy” aspect. Why is a “majority” needed in the first place? The masses (I being one often) show time and time again we will go along in herd instinct with what we perceive (or are deceived into thinking) to be right- and thus “make it right” under the rules of democracy (mob rule) -which we have been warned against in writing since Plato. But Bitcoin wasn’t created or developed by a majority, Socrates drank poison because the majority gave him a sentence of death or exile, Christ was crucified by the majority. Doesn’t matter what the majority believes. Truth is what matters. Changes in society happen because of the remnant and the revolutionary.
I hear you but in the context of hyperbitcoinisation, people make up society. and without the people how do you effectively affect culture and spread truth? Decisions should not be made by a mob but culture is memetic and spreads through one.

You can block whoever you want, such that you see only replies from whichever set of users you want to see If user A blocks user B, then A never sees any content from B But C can still see B's replies, even if they are replies to A. After all, why should A be allowed to interfere with the ability of C to see B's replies?
Totally agree! Nostr is such a cool space for open chats. Love the idea of moving Bitcoin talks there—more voices, less noise! Let’s keep it real and supportive! 🚀💪 #NostrCommunity
It makes me laugh that people still try to “influence” the people who haven’t realised all their “reach” is dependent on the blue check “protection payment” they send to Elon.
