Shocking fact: as of today, the number of GiftWraps (DMs?) per day on Nostr is bigger than the number of Kind 1s.
We can see about 750,000 GiftWraps in 24hrs out of 2.5M events.

probably spammers, 99% of my DMs is spammers. Can you do something about it. Come on smart guy, find a solution

Giftwraps have a lot of other stuff uses too like in our case private calendar invites, we see aroumd 100-150 of those daily on the calendar itself. Im sure other clients are using tbat too

Maybe, but not only that... otherwise each one of us would be getting hundreds of spam messages per day.
That seems like a ton of events though for what feels like a small userbase. Is giftwraps dms or are you questioning what exactly is this event?
It could be so many things.. for instance, it could be people talking to their AIs via Nostr DMs or it could be private posts on the feed. We will never know..
Talking to their AIs could definitely rack up those numbers. I am not familiar with private posts. What's that about?
