I just ran the numbers on The Retrograde comparing their spotify earnings against v4v. Strap in its a 🤯🤯🤯 The Retrograde earned $0.003 per stream on spotify and $0.40 per stream on v4v. That's a 130x increase in value per stream. Holy shit. 🫨🫨🫨 Put into a different context, it takes 130 fans in traditional music to equal just ONE v4v fan. That's fuckin nuts. Let me say that again: 130 trad music fans = 1 v4v fan image Imagine what happens when major artists realize the earnings potential and we scale all this up. Cannabis Records is on the mission. Thank you to all you mega chad laser eyed v4v fans who's supported us through your zaps, boosts, and boostagrams! We are on the verge of something earth shatteringly disruptive here in the musoc biz. Let's fuckin gooooo!

I'm not sure if there is something readily available but there are a lot of people out here willing to help. Wavlake is easy to get started on or you can use RSSBlue if you want to try a more sovereign route. Both are very easy to set up. We have some big moves in the works along the lines of helping artists get set up. Stay tuned 😉
Most people don't know this exists and that's okay. It'll come in time. It's all a massive flywheel. We start with the true fans that are here today. The hardcore early adopters who have a personal stake in seeing this succeed. They in turn bring huge value to early adopter artists. As the ecosystem grows bigger more established artists will enter (we are pushing hard on that button now). They bring along their most loyal fans. As we keep building out innovative innitiatives (like what Satelite Skirmish is doing) the value prop on this side grows significantly, hardening the model. Over time, traditional labels,, management, booking, sync will notice waning income (its already happening). Some will do their research and find us here with an established ecosystem. The ones with vision will buy in and stick around. Those without will simply die out. And then it all breaks wide open from there.

@New Music Nudge Unit take a look at this. It could help with the orange pilling.

Congrats btw, the only thing I’d like to add is “fan/fandom” implies a wall. When people engage media with time, tallent, or treasure they have stepped into a producer’s roll. Take Homegrown Hits for an example, I request songs not because I am a fan of the show (yes it is the best show ever), I request songs because I want to help produce their show. Same with making them artwork, sharing the show with a friend, boosting etc.
Hrmm interesting points. Still need to reframe a lot of the concepts and terms! It'll be a process though as people coming from legacy music need a bridge to help understand and transition into the new paradigm.

We are working on getting something like that together. It's pretty simple if you go with rssblue. Just sign up for $5/mo and fill out the fields. Only "difficult" part is you need a lightning wallet that allows keysend. Fountain.fm is the easiest I've found. We can also help them do all of this for a small split but id have to hear their stuff first since we'd be leveraging our reputation. It's easy enough to figure out themselves but we can offer a bit of promo as well if he wants to have it handled white glove.
Out of all the bands we currently or formerly represented that are on v4v, literally zero of them are stoner rock or experimental: The Trusted Circle the Earth MOOKY The Velvicks The Retrograde
I wonder if it’s really 130 - 1 or if Spotify and other services are just 130th of your real share? Still, fascinating and thanks for taking the time to do the comparison and the cool TL;DR graphic for those too lazy to read! 👌
No Agenda has some producers who do a Rubblizer donation which is $3,333.33 USD! That's 33 annual Spotify subscribers in 1 out of 104 shows! V4V is definitely not easy but it's better than advertiser meetings, sales meetings, and whatever other meetings one has to do in order to do what one likes to do No Agenda also has producers who zap via podcast apps, produce original artwork for every show, are boots in the ground research all over the globe, donate time and resources for streaming, websites, meetups and sharing content to new listeners. No Agenda also recognizes producers and not listeners, audience or subscribers. When you become an executive or associate producer you get to put your name on the IMBD! THE PREMIUM CONTENT is up front.
In this instance I specifically compared against spotify using total dollars earned / total streams. On v4v side i compared total sats earned converted at 100k / total downloads. But it actually gets crazier... Spotify data was over the full year while v4v was only 8.5 months.
