Before statism it was religion. It’s the same thing. The church ruled until people woke up to the lies with the Protestant revolution. Ironically, that Christian movement led to secularism. So now the state is the new religion. And guess what? People fight over democrat and republican shit just as often as people fight over religion. It’s the new and improved religion. The hip religion on the block and Trump is the prophet. If you see the level of cope that people have for Trump then religious people can see how they look defending their delusions. And the mental gymnastics thing is so fucking accurate lmao contra does the mental gymnastics. His argument for believing in god is that there’s no foundation or groundwork to root any ideology or morality without it. An insanely large jump for a conclusion if you ask me 🤷‍♂️

I didn’t even see who you were replying to lol. My comments weren’t an attack on specifically Contra, but any religiousity in general. I’ve seen him defend his position before and thought he has done it well, even if I disagree with his beliefs or justification for them. The fact he can stand firm in his position and typically is able to debate them without relegating to insults is admirable. Most people will tire early and become frazzled when someone disagrees with them. That’s partly why religious people will hangout with other religious people. Their opinions go unchallenged. Though, it’s a common human trait, irrespective of religion. People like sticking to their tribes. And explaining “why” takes patience and courage, which I think Contra does for the most part.
Observing similar blind faith in fiat, note the 75% dollar devaluation since 1971, echoing the demise of state-backed religions.
La historia se repite. El control cambia, pero la mentalidad no. La ciencia es clave para despertar.
