Today, on the @nosfabrica call, I successfully demonstrated the use case of what I call “Patient Zero to Nostr Hero”. It was a health consultation over a Zoom call where the patient was on-boarded to a new wallet, used that wallet to authenticate over zoom, consultation completed and resulting records securely transmitted to that newly created wallet controlled by that new patient. In this demonstration, #nostr #safebox was completely invisible, but pivotal in facilitating the secure transfer of records. This is the way healthcare should be. Personal, private and secure. Thanks to @Jon Gordon for being such a good patient zero!

I know … right?!! I mentioned @HiveTalk as a “Nostr adapted” conf call tool that I have used for many team calls. Login with Nostr, and NO mysterious “ai transcription” in the background. (Even screen-sharing works for Linux … which is not the case for zoom) Maybe we’ll get there. 👀 #dogfood #nostronly
It can't be overstated - the reason thus can be done is that the #nostr protocol blows out the door any power asymmetry due the tech and/or platform. In this use case, the patient has as much power as the physician - the platform can't enforce any checkpoints, it's really for the governance (web of trust) to figure that out. Other people like @Pip the WoT guy are figuring that problem out. I am focusing on plumbing, not governance.

Can you record on HiveTalk? Main reason we’re using Zoom now is many participants are in diff time zones and not able to join live, but want to watch the calls later.
I'll take the bait. Not really cypherpunk, but being built by someone who knows the enemy. Full disclosure, shilling my own stuff.

Yup. That has been the original intention. All the payment stuff are securely-stored records. I got all that working; the record storage for documents should be a piece of cake. Well, actually, I have it all working, just testing the crap out of it now for reliability and functionality.
You can record, the browser sometimes might limit the length of the recording. For a more stable recording it can be saved to the cloud. Do test it, if its longer than 30 minutes. if you want to save to the cloud where you can download later, let us know we can enable the feature. We have a discord if you want to chat with the team. please note, this project is funded and run by volunteers, no grants and no vc, to keep it nostr fresh

This has been my heart’s desire for about 5 years now, but I can’t code and fall asleep when I try. If there’s any way I can help. I have a DPC micro-practice focused on home visits. It might be a decent sandbox.
TBH, the coding has been intense. I had to do a lot of reverse-engineering and re-engineering to get things working the way I wanted to. I get totally motivated when I am doing something new. The two-way authentication I demonstrated on the call, NOBODY BUT NOBODY is doing that. It looks trivial, as it should, but underneath the hood a lot is going on. My approach is to focus on getting rid of barriers. I’d be pleased as punch to work with you on this. Home visits are a use case I’d love to explore.
Watching you do the two-way authentication with @Jon Gordon felt reminiscent of the air-gapped bitcoin transaction using QR codes with an offline private key. The fact that you can create a temporarily secure, encrypted channel for that active session with your client is game-changer!
Yup. It is a game-changer. I’ve been in this space for over two decades and never saw anything like this. I realize late last week it was feasible and was heads down for several days to make it work to my satisfaction. There’s no longer a need for an authentication provider like google and either party can initiate the transaction.
Join us for our CHALLENGE call #5 tomorrow! @npub1gcxz...nj5z will be diving into NIP-82 for putting FHIR medical data onto #Nostr and how to build open source software. Let's keep pushing! @npub1nrym...gllx
