They have been forced to think being lazy is somehow evil
Similar to how did slaves work as slaves. They just did until they no longer were capable. People working these heavy hours surely have impact both mentally and physically.
$$$ is a powerful drug
genetics and youth
50 hours is a minimum. In the field as a supervisor you may be working 84-90hrs a week, hours away from family, for 24 days straight. 4 days off and back at-er.

I work 84 hours a week for 2 weeks straight then I take 2 weeks of vacation.
Get all the work done in sprints. 6+ months off a year is golden :)
Who says you have to cram 80h in just five days? π
I've done it for periods and it sucks. Have been aiming for 30 hour weeks the past 4 years. Time is the hardest currency, spend it visely.
They have no life and are married to the game. Most haven't figured out yet that we are in the "we pretend to pay you, and we pretend to work phase" .
Sick if true
When I was a security guard for motion pictures, I worked five nights a week, twelve hours a shot.
But, I usually arrived to my posts, an hour and a half, to two hours early! I never took my breaks. I brought food and drinks with me.
hey -- we want to send you a test zap, but couldnβt find a NIP-05 or β‘ lightning address on your profile. u can set one up for free on rizful https://rizful.com ... then pls reply here and we will do a test zap.
I think it depends on a job, an office job for 80h a week is more doable then a physical labour job.
When I was in my 20's I worked 60-70 hrs per week happily (5 months a year). My best was 164hrs in two weeks!
But now I just don't feel the need to work that much, I think it's just a matter of motivation
This was pretty close to my life for a decade through my 20s into early 30s. Sometimes our project schedules allowed for a 17on 4off, but generally not any better than that.
Gottdang dude, what were you doing? What was your motivation?
My eyes cant take the strain of looking at a screen that long π
Dang thatβs cool, any good stories?
Damn thatβs cowboy
24 days on with 4 days off?!?! Respect to those guys but thatβs a no from me
Yea im just not built for it the grind
Damn, i imagine those sunday scaries hit hard
Now add in -40Β°C, snow, ice, and working outside from 7am to 7pm
Thankful to the folks willing to put in the hours and the effort to continue building out our energy sector!
I was building rock climbing walls, and since I only worked like ~5-6 months a year I wanted to stack cuck bucks as hard as possible so I could enjoy my time off
Young and properly motivated.
Like a fucking sledgehammer to the soul
Yes. I met Palo Turbay, a character actor.
She played Titus willever "Bosch's" love interest for an episode. My post was Red Studio, formerly Desilu Studio. I was seated in my guard chair, on the sidewalk, outside the stusio. I was guarding Miss Turbay's trailer. I was whistling tunes from the 1975 blockbuster movie, Jaws.
Miss Turbay stepped out of her trailer.
She: "You're whistling tunes from Jaws!" She said with enthusiasm.
We talked for a few minutes, then she had to go to the set to work. Afterwards. Miss Turbay returned, and told me that she has to go, her part in the show was over. I stood to shake her hand, but she gave he a hug instead, and I hugged her back.
She: "Thank you for watching out for me." She said in a heartfelt tone.
They don't spend 30 hours in traffic
