Is the baby breastfeeding and shielded from being in public too much? I guess if there are siblings in school ... then nothing could have been done. In my town there are illegal immigrats with no vaccinations, no public health records ... no nothing. Tuberculosis and Polio have been detected locally.

At 6mo my son caught his middle finger in a door. I was at work didn't see him for 12hours while a plastic surgeon came in and reattached the top digit. It was the worst thing I have experienced as a parent helpless and alone as my wife took him in. He's fine no issues at all but in the moment it was devastating. Just hug them love them every chance you get.

The sense of powerlessness is torturous.
