That said the bug reported about the impossibility of using the camera for scanning QR codes in iOS 16 even with the right permissions persistsโฆ Pasting addresses is my only workaround if I want to use Primal as a lightning wallet instead of WOS. Will keep waiting (my phone to break) ๐ Great app though ๐ป

I've signed in with my npub key but it wants my private key in order to interact. I'm still new at this...but is that right? I thought I had to die with my private key clutched tight in my hands ๐ค

Strange. My guess is that this has something to do with camera permissions; maybe that setting got corrupted somehow on your device.
Speaking of alternatives, we now also have the "scan image" feature (a button on the scan screen), so you can also do that.

apart from the privacy issue, encouraging users to use apple to buy bitcoin is not good.
if you aren't interested in self custodial money then there's no reason to want bitcoin at all. What is the purpose of custodial bitcoin vs fiat?
Isn't buying sats with a credit card through LND private? I think it is extremely difficult for you to find a lnd transaction... if it were on chain, then we would have problems. (obviously buying via p2p would be better, but this helps with adoption and we will soon reach hyperbitcoinization)
Unfortunately not everyone will have the opportunity or ability to self custody at the beginning of their journey so and itโs not a one size fits all scenario.
At least people will be able to build their savings in a currency with a supply cap (unlike fiat) and as their stack and knowledge grows, they will get in a better position to get their bitcoin to cold storage and / or some type of community fedimint.
Most folks Iโm lucky enough to introduce bitcoin to, I wont be able to set them up with a cold card within 10 minutes but I can onboard them to something like Primal, explain how bitcoin works, zap them some sats back and forth and send them down the rabbit hole of how to self custody their stack.
Something is up with the exchange rate in the wallet. Switching to USD gives a lower value than would be expected based on the current market.
Hey guys, $10 invoice from primal asks for $15 worth of sats from strike. This will be THE new orange pulling app for the US since wallet of satoshi is gone, but please get the conversion rate closer, itโs like 50% higher than it should be. According to you that, bitcoin is new ath like $75k.
why do you require PII when activating the wallet? looks strange on a permission less social network, isn't it? what do you need my PII for?
