This is excellent. We are going to look into incorporating some (or all) of this into the core product. Nice work @Alex Gleason!
One reminder to all the Nostr devs out there: let's not centralize around Primal's caching infrastructure. Our stack is open source. Anyone can and should stand up their own instances.

I'd still love to see more Primal caching servers so that alternatives exist π«ππ€π»
Well said!
Can you share more details about hosting primals caching infrastructure on another serves?
Thank you sir! Let me know if I can assist in any way. π«‘
Are there more out there ? Or is Primalβs the only one ? How much would in cost to an individual to spawn up such a service through a vps?
there are not. it's expensive to run. i looked into running one a little over a year ago and it would cost about $120 a month to run one on a VPS.
Honestly they opened source their solution, 150 USD in nothing some big relays operators can't afford by joining their efforts and sharing the costs, especially if they make it available for a small fee like 1 USD a month.
If nostr become a thing one day maybe some people will be ready to pay for it when kicked out of other caching service.
Ideally Primal could allow his app to still work in "degraded mode" without any caching service though.
