I get this idea that there are some people who would like to work for the community and make things better. They get elected to the state-level body and improve things. But when has this ever turned out ok. I'm sure there are singular instances, but what we more or less consistently and repair get is corruption and/or incompetence. Why are we doing this then? And I don't mean as much the society at large, but why do individuals think it's going to give better results this time, or next time. Or whenever in the future. We need to remove this stupid superstition of the ballot. From our heads.

This. The best system isn't the one that gives the individual the most power. It's the one that best protects us from insane power grabs ruining all of us.

I have my ideas, other people have other ideas. But this is not about any system or changing things. It is clearly seeing what is happening, what reality emerges from the current ideas. And to work within oneself to understand and see through it. Once we see, we are changed forever and what "system" is around us does not matter so much.

I am not advocating for dismantling the system in the post. I'm advocating for being able to see through it on a personal level. And that creates a different approach, a different set of reactions and different relationship to the outside world.
