That's to boooring!
That hits way too close to home for anyone who's kept a project alive past the honeymoon phase.
Everybody says "I reimplemented it in an afternoon". Nobody says that it is not even close to production.
maintenance is costly and unrewarding.
I'm helping Amethyst by reporting bugs and providing support to users! I'm doing my part!
I, for one, don't want to build. ๐ถ๏ธ I realized recently that I'm more of an explorer/investigator archetype than a "builder." I'll build what I need to to "ford the river" as it were, but it isn't the point for me.
But just like I don't play music I have huge appreciation for those who do build.
Taint that the truth
Sex is more fun than raising kids๐
It's the other way around, with me. I hate building. I like all of the devops and admin and QC stuff.
But I used to beg the developers to build what I wanted built and they just muted me, so I now build it, myself.
Maby communities can make it more rewarding, by celebrating maintainers work more ๐
Thanks Vitor for maintaining Amethyst
Can be moneywise.
