No one watches sunsets anymore.
I'm on a train heading home along the coast, there's a breathtaking sunset, and all the passengers around me have their eyes glued to their mobile phones.
I realise that I myself have taken my eyes off the sunset just to write this indignant message.

For less than $1000, you can give any sunset to all of those around you that would have missed it.

I noticed this years ago in a similar situation in the public transport. If we can unglue ourselves from the screens, we can start seeing the beauty in the world again. I got stuck with the nickname “the sunset guy” with my relatives because I never miss appreciating/talking about a beautiful sunset. But incidentally while kindly messing with me about it, they started paying more attention themselves.
I try to see the sunset every evening
Same issue on planes. Everyone gets mad bc i have the window shade open.
I was on a ship last week and a sunset at sea is tough due to clouds. But there was a woman down a few decks that couldn’t stop talking and screaming, “Look at the sunset.” Just enjoy the moment.
It’s hard to focus these days with how addictive phones are.
I literally get crazy fomo if I know there is a beautiful sunset that I'm about to miss lol
It happens to me too, and every time it leaves a bit of a bitter taste. I realize, with some sadness, that we’re losing our connection with nature more and more in all its forms. And yet nature, with its colors and endless shades, still knows how to give us incredible emotions.
Hard these days that looking up is a skill
I 🧡 sunsets and sunrises.
